My husband and I stayed at Santiago's cottage in November. Unfortunately the weather was not kind to us so we were limited in what we could do. However sunshine on the first day saw me enjoying the warmth whilst lounging in the swing seat. For a family holiday in summer, this place would be amazing. Lots of places to sit and relax, the pool to enjoy, an outdoor bbq and dining area. Santiago was very helpful and friendly. The only downside was that we had trouble finding the cottage and made the mistake of driving into the village's narrow streets with a mid size SUV, thinking we could get to the road to the cottage. The key to avoid this to to make sure you take the turnoff before getting into the village. The cottage is only a 15 minute walk to the village which is very picturesque. It may be different in summer, but the restaurant and bar in the village only opened on the weekends. There were limited facilities in the village. Otherwise the cottage was very comfortable, peaceful and quiet.
Hi Lorraine. Thank you very much for this review. "A little gem worth discovering". You are very right to say that in summer my house is a very good place to enjoy with the family. In summer it is the season of the year that you can best enjoy the outdoor pool and sunbathe. I am very sorry for the bad weather that accompanied you during your stay at my house. For me it has been an honor that guests from the other hemisphere of the planet visit my humble home. Greetings to your husband Raymond.
We went to visit my brother and sister in law, for a few days, who had rented this place for a week. The owner has spent a lot of time making it a 'happy place'. There is so much to look at. There is one if the best outdoor kitchens. There are so many outside seating areas that you can find a place to yourself if needs be. But its a paradise for children. We didn't have any with us but it brought our childhood delight out in the four of us. The owner has provided bikes, play areas, swings, climbing ropes, play houses. A table tennis table. The house is not the most modern but it has everything you need. The village is within walking distance. There are about 3 bars, one is in the bakers. There is one shop, a restaurant and a hotel. We only tried the coffee in the bakers, we just enjoyed being at the property so ate there. The church/cathedral is definitely worth a visit and there are museums etc in the village. It was near enough to Ronda to make that an easy visit and larger supermarkets can be found. We would definitely recommend this property for relaxation and make it as much fun or as active as you want. There is also land attached to the property that has paths leading through to two viewing points where chairs are provided and the land is a brilliant adventure ground for children.
Thank you very much Pauline for this review. Everything you explain in it about the house is very useful information for future guests. Regards.

Thank you very much for this review that can encourage future guests to book my house. Thank you very much for visiting my house and I hope you had a good trip back home. "Safe jour home".
My sister and I had a great week in this delightful villa which has plenty of room for a good sized family. The beds are very comfortable and everything is very clean and easy to manage. We had planned to eat out at the two highly recommended restaurants in the village, but sadly they were both closed during August and so we tended to cook at the villa and much appreciated the vegetables that we were given from the garden. The swimming pool is really lovely and big enough to have a really good swim. Santiago keeps it beautifully clean and although there are trees nearby we never had any leaves in the pool. The villa has masses of toys and activities for young children but they would need to be carefully watched from a safety point of view. While we were staying in Alpandeire we visited Ronda which is a very beautiful town. Not to be missed are the Arab Baths, the Mondragon House the New Bridge over the gorge, the Giants House and the Bull ring. We had a very great view of this from our table in the restaurant of the Panoramic Hotel where we had a fantastic lunch. The only problem that we had during our holiday was in finding the villa on the first evening and driving on the mountain roads. We made the big mistake of trusting Google Maps to get us to the villa and in consequence we missed the turning on the right to Camino Ronda, marked with an attention sign for lorries, and since we were being told to go to the village this was what we did. As a result we got stuck in a terrifyingly narrow road that was about 1 in 1 with Google telling us to do a U turn. We phoned Santiago who was very helpful and once we had extracted ourselves he guided us to the villa. The village is lovely but the roads are extremely steep and we are both pensioners with some mobility issues. However I would certainly advise anyone of any age to avoid driving into Alpandeire. It is possible to park at the bottom of the mountain and walk up Calle Eritrea and then the views are wonderful. All in all a lovely week and many thanks to Santiago and his wife.
