La Palmera is a new house in the lovely area of Peurto Marina,Gran Alacant, only a 10 minute drive south from Alicante airport. The luxuriously appointed house has 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, spacious lounge and dining area, modern kitchen, balcony from the main bedroom and patio area. The house is south facing for all day sunshine. The swimming pool for adults and children is a 2 minute walk and there are supermarkets, restaurants and bars all within easy walking distance.Nearby beaches are only 5 minutes drive.
Local buses are both very cheap and comfortable running frequently to local beaches, coastal resorts and cities. For the more adventurous traveller the regional/national bus and rail networks can take you from Alicante to cities such as Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia which are all well worth a visit if you have the time.

Things to do, Places to See
Alicante,Santa Pola,La Marina and Guardamar are easily reached by car or the local bus service.Further afield are Benidorm to the north and Torrevieja to the south.
Our local Carrabassi beach is a beautiful sandy blue flag beach with sand dunes and pine woods for a shaded picnic. If you feel energetic there is windsurfing, diving, paragliding sailing and surfing or for a more relaxed pastime many go fishing along the edge of the sea and this is where you will meet some of the local characters!

Cycling, hiking and tennis are also available and, of course, golf at one of the many golf resorts that are within easy reach of our house.

Santa Pola This traditional Spanish fishing village is only 5 minutes to the south of Gran Alacant, with wonderful local eateries, a fish market selling fish freshly trawled and an excellent fresh produce market every Monday and NEW Marina is superb with top class bars and restaurants (But watch the prices). Still worth having a drink there whilst admiring the boats!

Elche In the historical old section of the city amongst the most interesting sights are the Altamira Palace, the Basilica of Santa Maria,the Moorish Fortress and the Moorish Baths.
The municipal park in Elche is a wonderful place to enjoy both the sun and the shade. The park is filled with tall palms,water features,band stands and much more. The river Vinalopo runs through Elche and has several impressive crossing points.
Between Santa Pola and Elche a great day out can be had at Rio Safari Park. Th Park has awide range of animals on display as well as swimming pools and water slides. There are several displays to watch during the day.

Alicante City Whether you are seeking beautiful architecture and castles, wonderful shops, modern marina with super boats to dream about,or a relaxing palm forest, a wealth of restaurants and tapas bars and a street market in the evenings, this can all be found in this lovely city only 15 minutes drive from your door!

For the younger generation Benidorm, which is a 40 minute drive, offers several family attractions including:-

Terra Mitica - Theme park and entertainment
Terra Natura - Zoo and Water park
Acqualandia - Water Park
Mundamar - Sealife park with sea lions and dolphins

Places to Eat
Gran Mundo asian/chinese restaurant, very near, excellent food, menu at lunchtime including drinks for about €20 for 2.A new restaurant Los Olivos has recently opened and provides excellent food cooked in traditional spanish style. A 3 course meal for 2 with wine and coffee is about 70 euros. A special treat perhaps.
Patagonia steakhouse in the Plaza Mayor (only a 5 minute walk) great if you like steaks.
If you have a car take to the countyside and visit the Rebate Restaurant at Rebate or the Rancho Blanco near Torreveija. Details of both are at the house.
Lots of Special menus on offer on various days. for example a mixed grill with all you can eat for 9.95€ or an Indian buffet with a good selection of starters and mains for 8.95€

Non refundable deposit of £50/€50 is required when booking, final balance to be paid 6 weeks prior to departure. A £80/€80 security deposit is required. This will be refunded within 14 days of your departure and confirmation that the house has been left in good order. €50 cleaning charge(cash only) to be left at end of stay.
