Barcelona - Grácia 6+2 persons modern apartment with roof terrace
When you enter the apartment, you get into the luminous living room with a view to the square. There is a sofa corner with a plasma TV, and the apartment has WIFI internet. In the other end of this common room, close to the kitchen, there is a dining table. The sofa can be turn out to a double bed, extending the capacity to 8 persons.
The ample and beautiful kitchen in red colours, which gives life to the place, is fully equipped with last generation electrical appliances, for instance microwaves, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, coffee maker, toaster and squeezer.
There are three beautiful bedrooms, one with double beds, one with twin beds and one with bunk beds. As mentioned the apartments sleeps two more persons on the double sofa bed.
There is two fully equipped bathrooms, one with bath tub, toilet and bidet and the other bathroom has a shower and toilet. The bathrooms are equipped with hair dryer and iron.
Grácias is the perfect place for those who look for something different; the area is secure and quiet, and getting there is easy and fast. From the metro station Fontana is 100 m away, the city centre with Placa catalunya and las ramblas is only 3 stops away.
-And after having explored Barcelona all day, the buildings shared roof terrace with tables, sunbeds and even barbecue, is fantastic.
It is a great pleasure stroll down the Grácia pedestrian streets, you can discover modernist buildings of late XIX and early XX century with contrast to current live arrays of young draughtsman. In this area live many bohemian artists from all over the world, characterizing it by diversity and eclecticism. The cultural blend enrich the gastronomical offering as well as the cafes, bars and the national and international restaurants. Among the plenty places over Gracia, la Plaça de Sol is a good place where you can take an aperitif in the morning or a café on the afternoon in one of the sunny terraces.....a real Mediterranean lifestyle.
As an alternative to the metro, you can simply walk down Passeig de Grácia, the big boulevard, heart of the Barcelona shopping district, to get to the centre.
In the building, there are in total four apartments for rent, two of them smaller with two bedrooms only.
Hence, it will actually be possible (if we have availability) to accommodate a group of up to 20+8 persons.
Barcelona as we know it today has actually emerged in a very special way. As many other big cities, Barcelona has grown to include nearby towns, which were in ancient times not connected to Barcelona.
What happened was that the visionary town planner Ildefons Cerdà i Sunyer in 1859 had his plan approved (carried out the following years), where he used the land between the old city of Barcelona "Ciutat Vella" with the villages of Grácia, Sarrià, Sant Gervasi, Les Corts and Vallcarca with an entirely new neighbourhood, which was named Eixample (Catalan for extention).
The neighbourhood has a net of symmetric and broad avenues making the traffic go fairly smoothly for a city on Barcelonas size. The symmetry is only broken by the big boulevard "Passeig de Grácia, which goes from placa Catalunya up to the neighbourhood Grácia (originally the village Grácia), and the two boulevards Gran Via going from placa Espanya all the way though central city, and Diagonal going from the south-western corner of the city (Les Corts, Sarriá and Sant Gervesi), where the stadium Camp Nou and most of the campus of the Unversitat de Barcelona is situated, and down to cross Gran Via en Placa Glóries.
Walking up the boulevard Passeig de Grácia (the passage to Grácia), it is easy to sense that you now enter the neighbourhood Grácia, which was once a village. The streets become very narrow, limiting the traffic, and the central part of the area has several squares, for instance placa del Sol and placa de Libertat. In most streets the pedestrians have preference, so it is very nice to stroll through the neighbourhood with a lot of alternative shops and a lot of atmosphere from the historical buildings in village style. Even if you do not stay in the neighbourhood it might be worth a visit if you like to sit on a square with a glass and follow life. In the evening, the bars are filled with the Catalan youth going out for a drink.
